Want something to do with the kids thats cheap and cheerful?.....Then how about some Homemade instruments and Noise makers quick and easy by recycling some of your household materials(yes you get to recycle and help the enviroment too!!)

To make a Shaker you will need:

  • A bright fruit shoot bottle(or similar)
  • Sparkly stickers
  • Dried rice,lentils,beans or pasta
To make your shaker:

Make sure the bottle is clean and dry, fill one-third full of rice or pasta ect(whichever you decide on).Screw the lid on tightly.

Decorate with stickers...hold bottle by neck and shake shake shake(for extra measures you can glue lid shut before decorating(good idea if for a younger child)

To make a Rainmaker you will need:

  • A snack tube or long cardboard tube(such as used for kitchen foil)
  • Paint(gold or silver-though tbh u can use any)
  • Glitter and sequins
  • Glue
  • Lentils or Rice
To make your Rainmaker:

Paint your tube and leave to dry.Decorate the tubes with Sequins and Glitter.

Fill the tube about 1/5 full of rice or lentils and glue the lid on securely. If you are using a kitchen foil tube, you will need to cut circles of card or paper and fix them securly over each end.

Tip the tube from side to side to hear the rice fall.

To make a Mardi Gras you will need:

  • Green and Purple paint
  • Dried beans or rice
  • Gold star stickers
  • Sticky tape

Paint one cup purple and the other one green.
Leave to dry and then decorate with stickers.
Fill one cup 1/3 full of rice or beans.Turn the other cup upside down and tape securely together.
